Day 1 / 100 Brand Strategy #1: Win a Niche Before You Chase Scale Most brands fail because they try to sell to everyone from day one. Strong brands do the opposite—they own one specific group first. Instead of a broad audience, choose a painfully clear niche. Not “streetwear lovers,” but people with a shared problem, taste, or aspiration. Every brand also needs an enemy: overpriced labels, fake hype, boring design, or poor quality. If you don’t define what you stand against, the market won’t remember you. Next, own one core emotion—confidence, rebellion, belonging, or status. One emotion creates clarity; many create confusion. Design and communicate only for your niche, even if others don’t fully get it. That’s how loyalty forms. Win a niche first. Scale becomes easier later. #100Days100Brands100Strategies #BrandStrategy #BuildInPublic
