As an Indian sports fan, I have realised that our athletes donโt just win medalsโฆ they survive India first. Honestly with Delhiโs pollution levels, I am convinced that if olympic sports included โbreathing in AQI 500,โ weโd win gold every single time. Kids in other countries train on tracks, in stadiums, on green fields. Our kids train in smog so thick it should count as resistance training. Cycling? Good luck seeing 10 feet ahead. Running? Thatโs just cardio mixed with passive smoking. Swimming? Only if you count crossing waterlogged roads during monsoon. Still every time an Indian athlete wins a medal, commentators say, โImagine what they could do with better facilities.โ Bro, forget facilities, imagine what they could do with clean air. Honestly, every Olympic medal from India deserves an extra line โAchievement unlocked competed against the world AFTER competing against Delhiโs AQI.โ
