We entrepreneurs always talk about setting big goals and breaking them down. But sometimes, kids show us how it’s done without ever being told. My 9-year-old daughter, Prisha, is learning English on Duolingo. Recently, she completed a 75-day streak. Naturally, I congratulated her and said, “Just 25 more days to go before you hit the big 100!” What she replied left me speechless (and honestly, proud). She said she had already set milestones for herself: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80, 90… and finally 100. Nobody in the family, including me, ever taught her this way of thinking. Yet she instinctively knew what we, as entrepreneurs, learn the hard way, big goals can only be achieved when broken into smaller, achievable ones. It reminded me how often we chase huge milestones without celebrating the small wins in between. But those smaller wins are what keep us motivated, keep us consistent, and ultimately make the bigger vision possible. That day, Prisha didn’t just teach me about consistency. She reminded me of the power of clarity, structure, and celebrating progress at every step. Sometimes, the best lessons in business come from the most unexpected teachers—our kids.

I once had a mentor tell me, “Success is just a series of tiny, unsexy actions, repeated over time.” He wasn't wrong. Too often, we chase the big, flashy wins. We scroll through LinkedIn, searching for instant fame, partnerships, and milestones.

One day, I visited my friend’s house. As I called her name, her mom, holding a laptop, said, "She’s showering, sit and wait." She sat on the sofa, occasionally asking, "How’s study?" but without eye contact. Her dad, beside her, was in a meeting. Th
