The Assam Government introduces the Shraddhanjali Scheme 2025, a heart-touching initiative that provides free and dignified transportation of mortal remains of Assamese residents who pass away in other states. This scheme, launched on 6th October 2025, is managed by the Political Department and implemented through the Assam Police Special Branch. Its mission is to ensure that families of students and low-paid workers living outside Assam don’t face hardship in bringing back their loved ones for final rites.
