You don't ... That's the way. Although it looks rude , that's what a company should do when you have a great conviction on the quality of your product. There are millions of people especially in India who try to do these sort of things, either as a part of fraud or just for fun. So, it's important to be strict . Probably you'd lose some customers , but if you believe that your product is unique or of good quality or of a niche , then there's no reason to worry. Like I said again, you don't need to be rude but should know how to sort these kind of situations. A clear note about EXCHANGE/RETURN ACCEPTED ONLY FOR THOSE PRODUCTS WHICH NEEDS A GENUINE REPLACEMENT should be there and you would either return money or Replace with product only after due diligence (examining the product ). Indian customers are pampered and spoiled , you have to be strict with them and for that you should believe in your product/ service. Like I said , it isn't easy but the only way.

What should be the marketing strategy, when you are launching a new product category in market? Should we think to penetrate market first for awareness irrespective of PnL or should take conservative steps keeping breakeven in mind?
