THE " I CAN'T" PARADOX Those two words — “I can’t” — show up everywhere. Somehow, they’re the default excuse for the things we don’t want to do. Scrolling Instagram for hours? “I can’t stop.” Trying something new? “I can’t.” Making a tough choice? Blink “I can’t.” Here’s the irony: people agonize for months over a chair but decide what they can’t do in a matter of seconds. “I can’t” isn’t truth — it’s habit, comfort, or sometimes, fear disguised as logic. Take this: maybe you roam around every day because walls feel too confining. You say, “I can’t stay in one place all day.” Sure, but is it a reason, or just an excuse? Compare that to habits like jogging, gymming, or learning something new — these are choices we make consciously, not out of instant impulses. The I CAN’T paradox is simple: question it. Don’t just say “I can’t” — ask why not? Challenge your wants, test your habits, and create perspective. Nothing teaches better than living, seeing, and experiencing it yourself. Next time those two words slip out, pause. Reflect. And maybe, just maybe, do it anyway.
