Every other day I see founders posting that they got some “big award.” At first, I thought — wow, such achievements! But then I came across the brochures… where you can literally buy an award for ₹45,000–₹75,000. Along with dinner, a stall, a PR article, red carpet interview, even a gift hamper. Basically a full PR package. And that’s when it hit me — these are not awards, these are paid promotions. Still, people proudly post them as if it’s real recognition. As someone just starting out, it honestly feels misleading. Awards are supposed to celebrate actual work, not how much money you can spend on a package. Do these “vanity awards” really fool anyone anymore? Or are we all just pretending?
