I recently got approached by someone from Spain with a collaboration offer to help build an AI product. The deal is: I get 30% of revenue, but 0% equity. The other person handles everything else and keeps 100% of ownership. This got me thinking is this a fair trade-off in the long run? I’d be investing time and tech skills, but with no long-term stake. I’m trying to figure out: • How common is this model in early-stage AI startups? • Is revenue share without equity sustainable or risky for developers? • What would you consider before saying yes? Curious to hear your thoughts!
