Ever been stuck on a long bus or train ride and thought flying would save hours, but flights are just too far, too costly, or too rare? That’s the problem LAT Aerospace is trying to fix. Started by Deepinder Goyal and Surobhi Das, the idea is simple but powerful, turn small-town airstrips into mini airports and let small aircraft fly short routes like buses in the sky. India has over 450 airstrips but barely 150 are used for commercial flights, which means most towns have the infrastructure but no access. Millions in tier 2 and 3 cities spend entire days traveling by road or rail because flying is not an option. LAT Aerospace wants to change that with small planes that can take off and land in tiny air-stops, no terminals, no long queues, just walk in and fly. This approach could completely change how we think about regional travel. Short flights could become as easy and affordable as booking a sleeper bus. It also opens up opportunities beyond passengers. Think about fast medical transfers, quick cargo delivery, or same-day client visits without losing a full day on the road. Of course, this isn’t going to be easy. It’ll need support from aviation regulators, better pilot training, and smart aircraft design to keep things affordable. But if it works, it could unlock a whole new layer of India’s transportation network that’s been sitting idle for decades. If you’re building for logistics, local commerce, or even payments and mobility, this shift could create new markets and new users. LAT Aerospace isn’t just building aircraft, they’re designing access, and that could quietly reshape how India moves.
