Marketing Jugaad from the 1920s: How "Freedom Torches" Sparked a Sales Revolution! 🔥 You have a great product, but half the country thinks it's not for them. That was the situation for cigarette companies in the 1920s. Women smoking was Socially unacceptable, a big "naww!" The Daring PR Move by cigarette brand changed the industry. They did something bold. During a big public procession in New York City in 1929, they hired a group of women. Right when all the reporters and cameras were focused, these women lit up cigarettes together! The Clever "Branding" spread all over the news Pictures were everywhere. But here’s the truly smart part: the cigarettes weren't just smokes. They were called "Torches of Freedom." ( tbh this doesn't make sense at all lol ) The Simple, Powerful Message: If you're a modern, independent woman, you smoke. It was about claiming your space. 💪 The Result? Unbelievable! The social disapproval faded away much faster than anyone expected. A single, clever PR campaign changed everything. It's a bit shocking how well it worked, but it's a masterclass in marketing strategy. (Important: Smoking is very harmful to health. This is shared as a marketing case study, not to encourage smoking! Also if you are getting influenced by some sort of similar FOMO trap then avoid it.)
