A mindset shift Indian VCs really need: Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI, nailed it — “95% of my investments may fail, but the 5% that succeed will return 100x or even 1000x.” This is exactly how innovation happens. Unfortunately, this kind of bold, high-risk, high-reward thinking is still rare in the Indian VC space. Most want safe bets, early traction, proven markets. But real disruption doesn’t come from playing it safe — it comes from crazy bets on crazy ideas, backed by crazy belief. India doesn’t lack talent. We lack belief in that talent. We need more risk-takers. More believers. More VCs who can look beyond pitch decks and see the spark of what could be. That’s how we’ll create the next generation of global giants — made in India.

My 2 cents on Deepinder Goyal’s Chief of Staff post. When a founder of a stock market listed Unicorn has to put gimmicks to hire talent, it reflects 2 things. One, the quality of Talent Acquisition team that he has built at his company. Second,

Most startups don't fail because of a lack of money. They fail because the founder burns out Protect your energy more than your funding.
