𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 — "𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀." Most people don’t get this. → They build a product. → Enter a crowded market. → Fight with 100s of competitors. → And end up in a price war. That’s the hard game. Now look at Amazon. Amazon doesn’t fight like this. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭. Amazon builds a playground — and invites everyone in. Let me explain. Amazon lets millions of sellers sell on its platform. Sounds risky? Not really. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲: → Sellers come and compete with each other. → Amazon watches what sells best. → Amazon collects all the customer data. → Then Amazon launches its own version of the top-selling products. Simple. Sellers do all the hard work. Amazon makes all the smart money. 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐖𝐒 (𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬). → Startups use AWS to build their companies. → Even if they become big competitors later… → They still have to pay AWS every month. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭? No matter who wins — Amazon wins more. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲? Stop thinking: “How do I beat my competitors?” Start thinking: “How do I build something where I win — even if others compete?” 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲. They don’t fight harder. They build smarter. I hope you've found this helpful. Follow Vishu Bheda for more such amazing startup and business insights!
