Indian telecom operators Jio, Airtel, and Vi are rolling out built-in caller ID (CNAP) to display caller names without needing Truecaller The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) mandated this to reduce spam calls. It will use data from customer application forms (CAF) but won't work on 2G and feature phones. Initial rollout will be limited to same-network calls until data-sharing rules change.
