. Most people already carry smartphones with emergency calling capabilities. The "works without a phone" feature sounds nice, but realistically, who's going to wear/carry yet another device that needs charging and maintenance? Improving existing smartphone emergency features or creating better emergency response apps would reach far more people at a fraction of the cost.
