The "works without a phone" feature sounds nice, but realistically, who's going to wear/carry yet another device that needs charging and maintenance? Improving existing smartphone emergency features or creating better emergency response apps would reach far more people at a fraction of the cost.

The Aadhaar linking aspect is concerning from a privacy perspective. Do we really want to create yet another surveillance system that tracks our location and movements? While the safety benefits sound appealing, this is essentially a tracking device that would give authorities unprecedented access to citizens' whereabouts. According to me, we must integrate an active/inactive button or a kind of on off button which reduces the accidental pressing of buttons, so that it maintains the trusts among the government bodies (especially the task forces during accidental press). Secondly, instead of adding normal buttons we can use some internal buttons, which are not easily accessible, to avoid accidental pressing of it. As someone who works late shifts and walks home alone, I'd feel much more secure with a direct line to emergency services that doesn't depend on my phone (which could be stolen or damaged).
