you missed one detail though , that is why people discouraged those apps. In my opinion, it was due to the fact that those apps were just merely clones. Making an social media app isn't a new thing. The new thing would be to add some innovativeness in your solution which people can point that like due to this X thing I am using this app. we Indians don't need to become China as they are pretty much popular for their clones. We need to be the innovator. As simple as that!
