Did Microsoft deliberately kill Skype? Or did Shype die because the World changed?
Here is what happened:
- In 2011, Microsoft acquired Skype for $8.5 Billion!
- In 2015-17: Mobile-first apps like Whatsapp, Messenger, Telegram gained popularity
Bulky, but perhaps if it ran as a startup and not a corporate, then it could have had easier quicker shorter path to take pivot decisions
