- You control it as long as you renew it
- GoDaddy is just a registrar managing domain registrations, so you can transfer your domain to another

Other registrars like Cloudflare include WHOIS privacy for free, but GoDaddy charges you for it. Itโs ridiculous. They basically make you pay to keep your personal info private, when it should be default.
