Do you fully own a domain? - Buying a domain from GoDaddy means leasing it, not owning it permanently - You control it as long as you renew it - GoDaddy is just a registrar managing domain registrations, so you can transfer your domain to another provider anytime - If you dont renew, it can expire and be taken by someone else or auctioned - Some registrars allow up to 10-year registrations. Auto-renewal helps prevent losing your domain - You dont fully "own" it, but you control it if you keep renewing So what happens when you didnt pay GoDaddy for two months? - Your domain gets "parked for free" status, and gets locked by a secured service that restricts selling of domain for a year (Think of it as insurance) - When you renew, you still have to pay for the last 2 months in the same billing cycle, because GoDaddy claims they secured the domain for you without selling! Do you still believe you can literally "Buy" a domain? Or are you trapped in an endless subscription loop?
