I am working on a startup currently in its early stages. Recently, I approached some individuals who were interested in internships. Initially, everything was going well—they were excited about the opportunity, and all the necessary documentation and processing were being handled smoothly. However, at the last moment, one of them ghosted us. Since we are in the early phase of our startup, this has disrupted the balance. Right now, I am hiring new people who have no prior knowledge in the field. My question is: Is it worth hiring fresh minds and training them from scratch, or should we prioritize experienced individuals? Should we be paying freshers at this stage, given that we are just starting up? Or do we need to grow with the people we have? The main problem is we can't do everything 😕 How should we navigate this situation? Also, how can we retain talented individuals once we find them? What are your thoughts on this?
