To all the startups exploiting children’s minds to sell products like mentorship, skill programs, and counseling: please understand that you are influencing one of the most critical periods in a child’s life. I just saw the suicide rates in Kota, and you really think we have no role to play in this? IIT is not more valuable than a person’s life. To IITs, you're just a number. Stop selling the IIT dream as the ultimate goal. Stop using students from the 1st or 2nd year of IIT as mentors—they aren't psychologically mature enough and are in no position to guide and make stratergies for aspirants. Invest in responsible, experienced mentors who can show aspirants that IIT can be a stepping stone, not a dead-end.
