Dollar is one of the fundamental reasons for the USA's global dominance. The founding fathers of America very smartly linked the dollar to the value of gold making it the most stable currency in the entire world. As the dollar became the most stable currency, gradually every other nation started showing acceptance of dollars which also became the pioneer of global trade which resulted in making it even more stronger. Controlling the ammunition supply has also resulted in their global dominance. Inshot, they control money, that's why dominate.
