Let me explain my situation. Both of my parents are government employees. In Kerala, there isn’t a clear distinction between villages, towns, or cities. The entire state feels like a blend of urban and semi-urban areas, with hospitals, schools, and other essential infrastructure evenly distributed. We live on 7 cents of land, which is quite common given the limited availability of land in our state. Unlike many others, we don’t have any generational wealth to rely on, and my parents work hard to support our family. Despite paying lakhs in taxes every year, they receive minimal benefits from the government. This often feels unjust, as middle-class families like ours, who contribute significantly to the economy, are left without meaningful support. At the same time, I’ve seen people who own acres of land and have considerable wealth still benefiting from BPL cards and accessing multiple government schemes. It’s frustrating to see such misuse of the system 😐
