Yup. The reason to this was explained by Annupam Mittal in a podcast. He said that as investors they look for people who are hardworking, always hustling and are different. So just getting into iit is really big task, as you have to compete with millions of students and thus if you're from IIT, it shows you're hardworking and all that.
