Your brain can turn stress into a habit. Here’s how it works: 1. When you're stressed about a task, your brain gets triggered. 2. Once the task is done, you feel a sense of accomplishment. 3. Your brain links two key things from this experience: stress and success. 4. It then mistakenly concludes that stress leads to success. 5. As a result, your brain starts to create more stress, thinking it will bring more success. To break this cycle, you need to retrain your brain. Show it that success can come without stress. The next time you work on something, focus on staying calm and relaxed while completing the task. Over time, your brain will begin to associate relaxation with achievement. Your brain is simply trying to help based on past experiences. If you want it to behave differently, you need to give it new, positive experiences to learn from.
