I negotiated well while shopping. Yesterday, I went to Sarojini Market (a local market in Delhi), and I observed something very interesting. If you're not aware, let me tell you: In Delhi, there are many local markets where mostly defective items or old clothes are sold. For example, if a new item costs ₹1000, the defective one may be sold at a lower price, say ₹700. But it depends on the customer’s negotiating skills to bring the price down further. However, the key factor in negotiation is: who gives in first during the conversation? Let’s say the price is ₹700. Customer: "Please, bhaiya, tell me the right price." The seller might respond, "Okay madam, you can give ₹650." But some smart customers, like me, would say, "I want to buy it for ₹400." Now, there are two things to consider: First, some clever sellers can tell from the conversation whether the customer likes the product a lot. If they do, the seller may offer a final price of ₹600, saying, "Take it for ₹600, or leave it." However, if the customer is smart enough, they will reply, "If you can give it for ₹400, I’ll take it. Otherwise, I’ll leave it." The final outcome depends on several factors, such as the product’s condition, its demand, the shop's daily sales, the customer’s negotiation skills, and how confident the seller is about their product. So, share your experience the next time you go shopping at any place! :)
