To solve this issue, I would suggest that users obtaining canceled orders should be verified through their mobile number. Additionally, a user should not be allowed to benefit from canceled orders more than once a week, ensuring fair access for other customers. Zomato can also use AI to match the location of the customer canceling the order and the one purchasing the canceled order to identify potential misuse. Creating detailed customer profiling would further help—tracking how often a user cancels orders or benefits from canceled ones. To discourage repeated misuse, Zomato could disable the Cash on Delivery option for customers who cancel more than twice in a week or five times within six months. These measures would help curb abuse while keeping the feature functional.
