Hey everyone, I'd love to get your thoughts on my idea, "HappyDine AI," which I've submitted for Startup Showcase. HappyDine AI addresses a common challenge in the restaurant industry: gathering honest and actionable customer feedback. Traditional feedback methods, such as surveys or reviews, often suffer from low response rates, bias, or delay, making it hard for restaurants to understand and respond to customer experiences in real-time. Our solution leverages existing CCTV infrastructure to analyze customer emotions and satisfaction levels through advanced AI algorithms. By interpreting non-verbal cues like smiles, gestures, and body language, HappyDine AI provides immediate insights into diners' experiences without interrupting them. good solution, idk how much training it will need to reach a good accuracy, and the sales part is going to be a huge thing for you guys as restaurant space is super cluttered with a lot of unwanted just want to make money things.

Survey it self is a wrong approach. People won't do right thing without any reward. If main focus of a restaurant is on growth and addressing the problems the customer should be offered some kind of incentive like a discount coupon or any free dish like sweets on every reasonable mistakes and problems they can point at. The survey is absolutely useless if all they get is complements.

The AI algorithms would need to be incredibly robust and accurate to reliably interpret subjective human emotions and satisfaction levels. I have serious doubts about the feasibility and validity of this approach. Restaurants should focus on more direct feedback methods.

Absolutely not. Using CCTV and AI to spy on diners without their consent is a massive privacy violation. This is the kind of dystopian, big brother technology that should never be normalized, no matter how "innovative" it seems.
