The thing with Koo was that their target audiences were already on twitter. And the newcomers to the internet don't want that! Most new users of the internet are from tier 3 India. See share chat worked in the beginning...but crowded moved to insta! Insta at the same time pulled people from Twitter, LinkedIn and post - COVID WFH era ..where we saw the rise of new creators from tier 1, 2 and 3 also! FB retained the tier 3 with reels and share chat also faced the backslash. Building social media itself is difficult and just copying what's working is stupidity. If it's working why will we shift? You can't shift the mass at one strike... untill it's as cool as tiktok, Snapchat, and Instagram! Building social media is harnessing behaviour of mass! and individual! Think like mass people to build social medial. With medial, the founders are taking the feedback from masses. That's important!

800 million Indians use the internet, but less than 3% use it for educational purposes. Majority Indians use the Internet for OTT, Social Media, Gaming, etc. Hope we can shift our focus from entertainment to education soon...

Share valuation just dropped by > 60%. From 5B to 2B. Goes to show that you can’t make money (yet) from tier 2 and tier 3 India even if you have a lot of users.
