India has recently extended humanitarian aid to several African countries, focusing on food security and medical assistance due to natural disasters and drought conditions: Zimbabwe: Received 1,000 metric tonnes (MT) of rice aimed at addressing food security needs exacerbated by drought. This aid comes at a time when Zimbabwe is experiencing significant food insecurity, with a large portion of its rural population at risk. Zambia: India sent 1,300 MT of maize to help meet the food and nutrition needs of its people. This follows earlier aid in February 2024, where India provided supplies to combat a cholera outbreak, indicating ongoing support. Malawi: Like Zimbabwe, Malawi received 1,000 MT of rice. This aid targets the severe drought effects, following a state of disaster declaration due to drought in most of its districts. And Chad also has received such when such aids.
