A massive big one from FSSAI! 🙏🙏 No more A1 and A2 milk/butter etc nonsense to happen in India. .. FSSAI has ruled that all companies and e-com companies will have to do away with the mention of A1/A2 on milk, ghee, butter, curd etc. It’s well-been talk of the town how companies (especially many newbie startups) are using such FANCY & UNSCIENTIFIC tags to jack up prices by as much as 2-4x of the usual market trends. Many of these companies have even circulated campaigns which say that these products carry more favourable fat content. That’s always been a LIE! .. And, this is what FSSAI also mentioned in its ruling. 1> It said that A1 and A2 differentiation is linked to the structure of protein (beta-casein), and has nothing to do with the fat content! 2> It also highlighted that in its 2011 rules, it had already highlighted that it does not identify/recognize any such differentiation Right out of the stadium! .. Meanwhile, given FSSAI knew about its 2011 rules, I wonder why it had been silent about this A1/A2 milk mania from so many of these companies over the last several years? But, anyhow, good to see strict action at last. Much needed 🙏🙏 Cheers!
