No wonder. The govt can build a platform but not a strong distribution. The UPI is built but it needed phonepay and gpay to spread the wings. Why not BHIM app is not successful. The problem is distribution. Am from Hyderabad and if I scroll in Zomato or swiggy it takes me so long to reach the end. Where as I have less than 10 options on ondc. The UI in any app with ondc is rigid or not as great as Zomato. I can keep scrolling for hour not ordering but searching where as avg time spent is low. No customer support which is will be a bitter experience in case of queries or issues. Discount is ok but accountability is missing. I order in Paytm using ONDC. Accepted by magicpin restaurant and delivered by rapido rider. Who is taking responsibility for an order mispalce. The solution is govt should make it compulsory to use ondc on all e-commerce operating India which can bring down the doupolies in e-commerce or let the platforms add a platform fee to provide extra services.

They are partnering with dead brands idk why like ola food and magicpin..who even uses these?

Once i order pizza from ONDC , they give me order so late also now prices are so high maybe because of logistics mismanagement and less demographics demand

Because it is under government, From back timelin, BSNL was under government till then TATA acquired it can't release 5G. But within a acquiring period of 6 months tenure they released 5G. Just it takes a proper execution. But you know some clowns won't let it.

Tbh i didn't know about ONDC, until last month when they were in the news, I believe the duopoly got known due to their marketing and I have never seen ondc doing the same! I might be wrong about marketing but still they have to compete harder and break the duopoly

Majority of the middle class have gotten accustom to Zomato n Swiggy just like most people still use Google Chrome or Firefox instead of Duck Duck Go and Brave and people are on Instagram or LinkedIn instead of Medial or Entre

It's quite bad. I never even ordered once through it.

It just needs more marketing by burning money like VC backed startups do.

ONDC is a step in the right direction to break the duopoly, but it needs time to mature. The government should consider regulations to ensure fair competition. Maybe require Swiggy and Zomato to interoperate with ONDC? That could level the playing field while giving consumers more choice.

Not enough marketing

A major reason why startups and even business that are already established either fail or are not able to make much money is because they don't spend much on marketing. Hire the best marketing team and do extensive marketing. There is no way you are not succeeding after this.

Government lacks distributing expertise.

I think they need a strong face and execution as in collaboration inside it. They have to break the brand image swiggy zomato has been trying to build from the last 10 years.

I'm excited about ONDC's potential to democratize e-commerce, but it's fighting an uphill battle against established habits. People are used to opening Swiggy or Zomato when they're hungry. Changing that behavior will take time and a lot of positive word-of-mouth. Not just about the price

The network effect is real. More users on Swiggy and Zomato mean more restaurants join, which in turn attracts more users. ONDC needs to break this cycle, which is tough. They might need to subsidize heavily initially to attract both restaurants and customers, but that's a costly strategy.

See the only reason I can understand is the "lack of brand awareness" see, since ondc has great service but without any brand face and any marketing, without being exposed in front of public, you cannot be successful. Most of the people's don't even know about the name "ONDC" and that is the main reason I can interfere
