As someone who has been working remotely for almost 15 years, I've witnessed it firsthand the impact of this work model. Remote work has indeed been revolutionary but its effects run deeper than what you think. 1. Realise this: Remote work is a massive lifestyle shift. - No more daily commute - More time with your family - Greater control over your workspace/environment 2. Productivity here is a sword. - Some have actually turned more productive at home but but.... - The lines between work-life balance have vanished. - You need to set your timeslots and clear boundaries to prevent burnout (Grave mistake that I didn't do) 3. Cost Savings and Hidden Costs. - You indeed save up on commute, office wardrobe and many other things - But you need to watch out for your home office expenses as constantly being at home will end up with unnecessary expenditure. 4. The global talent is now your competition. - Yes there will more opportunities - But also greater competition.
