I have mixed feelings about Patagonia. On one hand, they're doing more than most companies to reduce their environmental impact and raise awareness. Their commitment to using recycled materials and repairing old gear is commendable. On the other hand, they're still a for-profit company encouraging consumption of outdoor gear. The most environmentally friendly jacket is the one you already own. It's a complex issue with no easy answers.
