I have mixed feelings about Patagonia. On one hand, they're doing more than most companies to reduce their environmental impact and raise awareness. Their commitment to using recycled materials and repairing old gear is commendable. On the other hand, they're still a for-profit company encouraging consumption of outdoor gear. The most environmentally friendly jacket is the one you already own. It's a complex issue with no easy answers.

I don't really think being a "for profit" company is an issue if you see the TATA group the are the one who donates most of their earnings but are still a for profit company so I think being a for profit is an issue if you are doing good work. btw its a really complex question.
