He enrolled for a business degree in IIM-B with the intend of eventually starting a firm Later he saw his cousin selling idli batter in plastic with a rubber on top, and a lot of wastage with customer complaints Later, Together with his cousin and with ₹50,000 in savings they started iD Fresh Food (iD stands for idli dosa) Scalled their business, put his MBA learning into work, reduced the wastage to 4% and in cities like Bangalore it is 1%, what is left sold to hotels/restaurants, what left after that is donated to charities. Today with five factories, 650 vans, and 2500 workers iD has solidified it's market for idli and dosa batter, and expanded to more SKUs Indeed, the firm has placed cameras inside it's factory linked to a website, so that customers can inspect the factory at any time. As Musthafa reflects on his life this far, he notes the importance of education in transforming him and the tremendous role people like Mathew Sir can play by giving hope to even a child.
