Redbull is failing in India, because of a enery drink that i bet you don't even know about, Well this drink has half caffine of redbull but still managed to steal the marketshare of redbull, Infact redbull today is no longer the market leader in energy drinks space See Redbull was a famous, affluent drink in India and they were leading the market by making around 500 crores in revenue But pepsico always had a tough beating redbull in India. That's when they got the unique insight that not everyone can afford Red Bull So they launched Sting at 20rs price point as a non-premium drink, their promise was 1/4th the price of Red Bull and half caffeine. As they launched sting at the price point, with great positioning they ended up expanding the market size and unlock more potentional, infact today in most tier 2/3 cities sting has captured more shelf space than any other beverage.. Consumers loved the sting so much that, daily wage workers found sting affordable and started using it as a substitute for lunch.
