For startups, the lack of physical interaction can be a big downside. The energy and camaraderie of working closely together in an office can fuel creativity and rapid problem-solving, which are harder to achieve remotely.

I think it will downgrade productivity ,people won't work at full potential . Lack of communications and you don't get enough motivation to work ,chance of procrastination is high

My company is full time remote. And one of the key fact that management put out infront of us was that the productivity had decreased. I am thinking people have a relaxed attitude with remote work. Where you spend 5-6 odd minutes in an 15min period doing random household work. But that is work life balance right? Helping around the house whereas in a traditional office you'd spend 9hours without thinking about your home. Downside for employers is that they are still paying you for that 9hrs of work. Hence the cross.

Mere opinion mei productivity is a double-edged sword. Some studies show that remote workers can be more productive, but others indicate that they may struggle with work-life balance, leading to burnout. Finding the right balance is key, and it's not always straightforward.

Technology can be a barrier too. Not all companies have the infrastructure or knowledge to support remote work effectively. Issues like secure access, reliable communication tools, and efficient workflow management are critical and not always in place, there will be 1000s of mistakes, and miscommunications.

I have been working remotely for almost a decade or more. The issue with remote culture is that you need to work primarily in the company that is completely remote and is not hybrid. The issue with working remote is that in the Indian household you don’t have enough space for you to setup your own separate office which thus leads to interruption in the operations as you are disturbed daily with the household activites. Being at the house all the time, logged in people intend to work just from anywhere like on the bed etc and even loosing basic office attire affects the mindset. Obviously since you are at home then you wouldn’t want to be dressed up even remotely formal that too affects the mindset. Productivity goes down as the tasks and progress that can be achieved when a whole group of employees come together and argue, discuss and talk face to face is completely different. You tend to go into sedentary lifestyle that screws up your body system as you lack movement too.

Because company thinks that you're not dedicated to that work or you're not professional worker for that company and offices gives proper personal touch and working environment according to society standards

Because a majority of people don’t work in remote setup

I think a big part of the challenge is the mindset of traditional management. Many leaders are used to seeing employees in the office to believe they are working. There's a lack of trust in productivity when employees are out of sight.

Communication, Availability of Internet

It's also about company culture. A lot of businesses have built their culture around in-person interactions, spontaneous brainstorming sessions, and team-building activities. Transitioning to remote work disrupts these established norms and can be tough to replicate virtually.

Because human is social animal and we do work together. Remote setup is not able to give that feel of support, togetherness,anger,fear due to screens and there are control issues also.

Because of fu**ng micromanagers.

From an HR perspective, managing a remote workforce comes with its own set of challenges. Things like onboarding, maintaining employee engagement, and ensuring effective communication can be harder when everyone is working from different locations, hence not my kinda preference.
