Linkedin and X were full of these random founders getting into Forbes 30 under 30 yesterday. Is Forbes a scam? How is it even possible to get so many randos in the list? It used to feature too entrepreneurs across the country once upon a time. I really wonder if an institution like Forbes actually takes money to do this or what? Pathetic if they do. But still seems impossible.

Forbes has always been a mix of genuine achievers and those with good marketing teams. It’s become more apparent recently, but it's not entirely new. Still, it's disappointing to see it so blatantly.

Yup it’s completely a scam. New gen scam. Once upon a time it was tech crunch and startups and now founders thinking differently and trying to build their own brand image.

I’ve always taken these lists with a grain of salt. It’s nice recognition, but at the end of the day, the real measure of success is your impact and sustainability in your field.

Forbes might be losing credibility with these practices. If they don't tighten their selection process, they risk becoming irrelevant. It’s a shame because being on their list used to mean something significant.

I think Forbes tries to maintain a balance, but the increase in the number of categories dilutes the prestige. Plus, with the rise of social media, it’s easier for people to inflate their achievements.
