FANG/IIT/IIM people are over rate! I'm an early stage founder currently building an MVP. Initially i tried hiring folks from reputed background (previous work exp in top MNC, IIT/IIM tag). Their resume was so shiny and they even cracked the interview smoothly (i think everyone just works hard to crack interviews these days not for improving in the actual job). I had to fire them soon and wait for notice period. As a startup founder this is costly for me. Then later i came to know about a guy (frm a friend) who works remotely from his village in Himachal (i can hear cattle sound during our calls) but he knows his stuff. Very hands on with strong practical knowledge! Had another similar experience while hiring a content marketer. A DU student did great job over a marketing MBA! I wish there was a way to find people who have practical knowledge rather than just knowing how to crack the interviews. How do u folks solve this problem? Any suggestions
