Perhaps it is a sample bias but I now know 5 people personally who have 15-20 years of experience but are unemployed for 6+ months or took a massive salary cut.
40s are turning out to be hard for a lot of people on the career front.
I got placed in Accenture and it's been 3 months since I accept the offer but the joining date is not coming they just sent the message that " keep an eye on your inbox we will tell you further steps" but when i ask some official they said it can be
