I’ve always noticed people tiptoeing around saying UP/Bihar, what does North even mean? Everywhere upwards of Bangalore is North? Or is Jammu and Kashmir true North? Weirdly you would find that a lot of unicorns or growing startups or simply put great entrepreneurs are from UP/Bihar. Everyone belongs to a part of the spectrum Ravi, can’t say we’re all rickshawala kids looking to make it to the headlines for becoming IPS/IAS. Some are creating jobs and doing amazing works in other areas and industries. Now I wonder where the mindset problem is, in people from “North” or this comment section.

But, the trend is changed now days

Coz, mere bhai 1) Business is too risky for beginner (ye wala mindset) 2) Private sector me age factor or Englis is mandatory (ye wala c***yapa) We're still live in society where Skin color is parameter to judge beauty & English is parameter to judge intelligence...

Lack of world knowledge. And feeling government job as a pride.

Govt job is glorified as "kaam zda nahi hoga ,aur Paisa bhi accha hai" Nobody wanna do something new or take risk + parents pressure you know .

There's no private sector in the Northern part of the country (Expect NCR). If you look at states like Punjab, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh etc; lack of private sector might be the reason for youth especially from Northern India being obsessed with government jobs. Few might call it 'culture' but that too boils down to the above point is what I feel. That's why we see the number of civil applicants is exponentially higher in states like Bihar than in states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana. *No hate to anyone 🙏🏻*

Because they don't want to work they only want rest and money for their lazy work

Good salaries , pensions ( safe future )

The obsession with government jobs among Indian youth, especially in the North, persists due to traditional stability, societal status, and perceived job security.

Nice question but one simple answer - North Indian youth don't want to grow beyond Govt Jobs or Western Immigration. Most of them are limited by mindsets of people around or the movies/shows. They are far from reality. They do realise later when they experiment but again then again no one listens to their advice then. It's a deep hell !

They invest 5 years and still not able to get job if same dedication they invest in coding or software engineering then most of them are biggest coders in the world
