I think it will be helpful for a number of users... Liked Notifications are to be kept on the notification tab until they are seen, because if removed then might lost it when app is opened later on. User experience in it is nose diving and JTBD is not achieved. Can create a news notification section in notification tray as you Suggested or can provide an option to mark for later on each notification. Experimental, as rooms for corrections are high in it.
