Recently I contacted someone at a start up for opportunity as intern. It is an ai tech company. I have a great interest to work in startup because I want to build my own in future. It's my dream. They said they will conduct some tech interview like a nrml conversation and I can join. I said all of these to my parents. They said to not to focus too much on this and focus on studies and college or get a govt job. I just though wtf.. I just don't know what to say. It is a great opp for me to grow myself but they just totally disappointed me and they are disappointed too. I felt like why are they restricting me. I felt like they are crushing my dreams. Literally don't know how to react with that🤷‍♂️.

See don't blame your parents for that they just want your safe future and if you show them some result then they might support you. As aman Gupta said, he got degree of CA firstly because of their parents and after that he handed the degree to them and he built his start up. Have patience and don't lose hope.

Common problem in India. Govt jobs will never pay well and if you are talented, you will always have a job you just have to choose something that pays well and you like working in. Convince them.

It's not anyones fault dude, your parents have a anxiety or FOMO that you will get useless in future. So they asking for go for a lottery like gov jobs. But they don't understand times have changed they still in their job times Best thing to do is what you want to do. If you done what you want you don't have regret. If you do what they say you will have regret and angry on your parents. Fail yourself or win yourself. Do t allow others to fail you or win you 👍

Chill brother , you parents are just caring for you not crushing your dreams and all those stuffs, it's Indian mindset you can't change it with words, get a degree for securing your future then you can start your startup and buisness dreams. In case your buisness doesn't work out, you can always go for your degree to earn .

Your parents genuinely care for you. Though it's great experience to work in a startup, however all these news headlines related to layoffs implant fear in your parents and they don't want that their children to go on that path and regret his decision. It's your decision at the end but they genuinely care for you.
