Swiggy Instamart beefs up leadership team with key appointments

Swiggy Instamart, the quick commerce arm of Swiggy, has announced the addition of new members to its team today. Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala has been appointed senior vice president (SVP) and head of product at Swiggy Instamart. Previously, Kurnala served as the chief product officer at Reliance Retail-owned JioMart, overseeing product, program, design, analytics, and marketplace trust functions. Swiggy Instamart has roped in Mayank Rajvaidya as the vice president (VP) of fruits & vegetables vertical. With nearly 20 years of experience, Rajvaidya previously led Amazon’s consumables private brands in India. His expertise will strengthen Swiggy Instamart’s trajectory in the fresh produce segment, the company said in a press release. The Bengaluru-based company has also appointed Manu Sasidharan as associate vice president (AVP) of the FMCG Category and Kumar Rahul as the new AVP of business development. Swiggy Instamart currently operates in more than 25 cities and delivers groceries and other essentials across over 20 categories in 10 minutes. It competes with Zepto and Blinkit. As per an ET report, Instamart has been approached by global e-commerce giant Amazon for a potential acquisition.
