Govt to recover ₹250 crore from Hero Electric, Okinawa: Report
India's Heavy Industries Ministry will recover approximately INR 250 crores ($33.8 million) from electric two-wheeler manufacturers Okinawa and Hero Electric, after finding that they wrongly claimed incentives under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme. The ministry has already recovered around INR 2.25 crore ($305,000) from Okinawa, and it has issued a notice to Hero Electric for the recovery of the remaining amount.
