Electric 2-wheelers get costlier as govt slashes FAME subsidy
Following the reduction in subsidies under the FAME-II scheme on June 1, the prices of multiple electric two-wheelers have witnessed an increase. Bajaj Auto, the manufacturer of the Chetak electric scooter, raised its prices by ₹22,000, while Ather Energy implemented a price hike of ₹10,000, as reported by CNBC-TV18. Greaves Cotton, the owner of Ampere Electric, reportedly raised prices ranging from ₹21,000 to ₹39,000.
