A startup is essentially a decision engine. Every week founders decide what to build, who to hire, which market to pursue, how to price their product, and when to raise capital. Most companies don’t fail because of one dramatic mistake. Instead, a series of small decisions slowly move the company away from market reality. The strongest founders develop decision discipline. They question assumptions, adjust when evidence changes, and stay aligned with what customers actually want. Good decisions rarely look exciting. But over time they build durable companies.
