A lot of people complain they can't find the right folks to work with. Funny thing is, there are all these Instagram trends where people ask for portfolios, but when you actually reach out, they don’t even bother to reply. And if someone does reach out to you, you give them a time to connect but they don’t respect it. Then they randomly call whenever they feel like it, and if you say you’re busy, suddenly they start replying and deleting old messages, saying stuff like, “If you’re so busy, will you even be able to do our work?” It’s like they expect you to just sit around waiting for their project, and then they ghost you while you’re on another call. I’m working to earn a living, so of course I’ll schedule my time to respect my other clients too. I ask them for a good time to talk, and they say something vague like “anytime between 10 AM to 6 PM.” So I call during that window, they disconnect, I message them, and then nothing. Ghosted again. And the cycle repeats. Is this just a lack of basic business sense or do first-time startup founders think this is normal, or if you are not picking a call on late night then you lose your contract and you have to be ready for it? I genuinely want to understand your needs, plan a roadmap, and work with you. But if there’s no professionalism, should I just start ghosting too like the same Instagram recruiters who complain they can’t find reliable people? Maybe the problem isn’t the talent, it’s the way some people misunderstand how professionals actually work, charge, and make a living.
