We are a nation of 1.5 Billion. Why is no one queuing to learn from us? We love to call ourselves Vishwaguru (Teacher to the World). We love to remind the world that we built Takshila, Nalanda, and Vikramshila - universities that once drew scholars from across the globe. But history does not pay the bills. And it certainly doesn't teach our children. 👉🏻 We are the world's most populous nation. Yet, we are running the world's worst "Intellectual Trade Deficit." 👉🏻 For every 1,600 students we send to Canada, hardly 1 comes here. 👉🏻 For every 144 students we send to the US, only 1 comes here. 👉🏻 From Germany and the UK? The numbers are so low that they don't even make the "Top 10" list of foreign students in India. The traffic is entirely one-way. 📉 We are sending: - Our Capital: Billions of dollars in tuition that fund their research labs. - Our Talent: The cream of our youth who will likely never return. We are not exporting education. We are exporting our FUTURE. We can build new campuses. We can change policies. But until a student in Berlin, Toronto, or London dreams of studying in India - just as they once dreamt of Nalanda - we are NOT a Superpower. We are just a supplier of labour to the countries that actually are. It’s time to stop living in the past glory of Takshila and start building a future that keeps our talent home. What is the ONE thing holding Indian universities back?
