Building a social product in India: What we've learned so far Lukoon is now 2 months in, and here's what stands out: 1. Data is religion— With 600M+ internet users but varied connectivity, every kilobyte matters. Optimize or die. 2. Community > algorithms— Indians want genuine connections, not influencer culture. Hyper-local communities work better than global feeds. 3. Trust is your moat— Privacy concerns are real. Be transparent about data or lose users instantly. 4. Monetization must come later— In a market learning digital platforms, focus on value first, revenue second. 5. Localization is non-negotiable— English gets you 50M. Add Hindi/Gujarati/Bengali? You reach 200M+. The biggest lesson: Build slowly, listen obsessively, and don't copy Silicon Valley playbooks 1:1. What challenges do you face building for Indian users? Curious to hear from other founders here. #Startup #IndiaEc #ProductBuilding #Medial
